Service and Programs

The New Haven Chapter of The Links, Incorporated engages our entire chapter membership to provide programming to the students currently attending Saint Martin de Porres Academy (SMPA), as well as to students from SMPA who have matriculated to high school and college. Our programs are implemented in alignment with our national priority to deliver and sustain transformational programs. Our mission is aligned with the school's priority to lead the school's families out of the cycle of poverty through education and exposure. Students are being taught by programs and by example regarding the need for healthy mental, physical, intellectual and psychological lifestyles. The students are exposed to various art forms, participate in projects to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering, math, and in workshops that teach skills helpful for social communication. The students are encouraged through mentoring to expect and plan for success. Through our chapter's programs, the students are being equipped with relevant and impactful skills that will help propel them to and sustain them out of the cycle of poverty and towards successful lifestyles.
